The UK Business Angels Association secured my services to photograph a very dynamic event held at the BFI Southbank. This actually took place nine months ago so I’m a little late in sharing, but better late than never!
The programme featured a series of pitches from arts and entertainment start-ups seeking investment. As a fan of Dragons’ Den (favourite Dragon? Deborah Meaden) it was exciting to be at an event where investors were firing questions at entrepreneurs, probing them about what they would spend their investments on.
The venue had no windows and harsh artificial lighting but despite the challenging environment I was very happy with the shots that I was able to produce of the pitches and the informal networking that took place.
One requirement of the commission was to send over a couple of ‘live’ shots, as well as a highlights package before start of business the next day. I ended up finding a handy spot in the atrium of the BFI and filtered and optimised a selection before heading home.
UKBAA have since asked me to quote for a couple more jobs which I sadly haven’t been available to take on but I’m very much hoping to be asked back again by them.
